Hair Loss After Childbirth

After childbirth, many women often experience evident hair loss for a few months. This type of hair loss is normal and usually caused by low estrogen levels. Fortunately, this hair loss is only a temporary problem and the majority of women regain normal fullness in the hair within one year. In some cases, the recovery is even swifter. New hairstyles can also help make the hair look fuller, such as shorter cuts and getting cuts with layers. Furthermore, Dr. Marder suggests new mothers be wary of hair tourniquets that can be dangerous to a new born.
